Rowena M. (Hull) Hughes
December 15, 1937 ~ December 1, 2021

Rowena M. Hughes passed away on December 1, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Matoy, Oklahoma to Travis and Lillyan Hull on December 15, 1937. She attended Bokchito high school and earned her Associates degree in business, she worked as an assistant business manager at Southeastern Oklahoma State University of Oklahoma and Budget Director Texas Tech University Health and Science Center. Rowena Married Lawrence J. Hughes in Bokchito Oklahoma. Rowena was of the Christian Faith and attended First Baptist Church of Petersburg, Texas. She enjoyed watching Nascar, traveling, and cooking.

She is preceded in death by her parents Travis and Lillyan Hull.

Left to cherish Rowenas memories are her husband Larry Hughes of the home. Her son Mark Hughes and wife Shirlene of Lubbock, TX. Her daughter Mary Homer and husband Willie of Ft. Worth, TX. Her brother Glynn Hull and wife Patricia of Durant. Uncle George Hull and wife Margie of Durant. Her grandchildren Bryan Hughes of Charleston WV, Krystle Cunningham and her husband Matt of Van Alystine, TX, Kali Hughes of Lubbock, TX. Her brother-in-law William (Bill) Hughes of Durant. Her niece Shannoh Arthur and husband Jerry of Calera, and nephew Brent Hull and wife Jennifer of Austin, TX, and Greg Hull and wife Kerry of Austin, TX, Jarrett Hughes and wife Kim of Oklahoma City, as well as two beloved great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is set for Friday, December 3, 2021, at Brown’s Funeral Service of Durant. Services are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Durant. Online condolences can be made at
