Oleta May Hughes

October 18, 1922 ~ November 29, 2003

Services: Thurs., Dec. 4, 2:30 p.m.

Graveside services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., for Oleta May Hughes, 81, who passed away November 29, 2003. Rev. Robert Proctor will officiate.

Mrs. Hughes was born on October 18, 1922, in Choctaw County, Oklahoma, and resided in Kern County for 65 years. She loved gardening and taking care of her children and loved her husband dearly.

Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her son, Charles Ray Hughes. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Delbert H. Hughes; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth Lee and Jenny Hughes and Russell Wayne and Tammy Hughes, all of Bakersfield; daughters, Shirley Sue Feister of Austin, Texas, Linda Kay Lupin and husband, John, Jr., of Norman, Oklahoma, Brenda Carol Fiske and husband, Howard, Beverly Joy Woods, Barbara Lyn Dooley and husband, Jerry all of Bakersfield; 22 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; sisters, Odessa Duford of Lamont and Bobbie Powell of Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Honorary casketbearers will be Jason Woods, Michael Hughes, Troy Hughes, Kenneth Hughes, Shawn Dooley, Justin Dooley, Howard Fiske, Jr., and Keith Woods.

Visitation begins Wednesday, 3 - 9 p.m.
