Don Hughes was born April 15, 1945 in Leedey, Oklahoma to Bithie and Tom Charley Hughes. He passed away November 12, 2017 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years, 6 months and 27 days.
As a young boy Don started picking cotton living in Delhi community. He moved with his family to Sayre and later he began working as a sheet metal installer. Don moved to Florence and Mapleton, Oregon for few years before returning to Sayre to make his home. Don enjoyed being in the outdoors hunting and fishing, tinkering with electronics and working on cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 7 siblings.
He is survived by his 3 children, Rose Sutton and husband, David, Sayre, OK, Jem Renee` Hadix and husband, Amza, Florence, OR and Veronica Hughes, Roosevelt, OK; 6 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Bonnie Myers, Sayre, OK and Lily Poindexter, Sayre, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service and condolences can be made online at www.whineryfs.com
