Donald Allen Hughes, was born November 27, 1965, in Calexico, California to Donald Wesley and Deloris June (Brown) Hughes. He passed away at his home in Carney April 16, 2025, at the age of 59.
Donald, or Huggy as his friends called him, enjoyed fishing, camping, Bar-B-Quing, farming, mowing, gardening and riding his sand buggy and 4-wheelers over the sand dunes. He also spent some time sitting on his couch playing games on his phone.
Huggy enjoyed working as a volunteer firefighter for Carney and driving the ambulance for Chandler. He loved being around people especially when it was a family gathering or Halloween. Huggy was always quick to help others around him.
Huggy was preceded in death by his fraternal and paternal grandparents; parents, Donald and Deloris Hughes. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Kim (Wilson) Hughes of the home; children, Kara Dawn Hughes, Dailey Hughes (Brooke); grandchildren, Braycelee, Everleigh; and his brother, Darin Hughes (Becky).
A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
