Roberta Marjorie (Dupus) Huffman

May 16, 1924 ~ July 30, 2017

Roberta Marjorie Huffman was born May 16, 1924, to Robert and Jessie Dupus in Aline, Oklahoma, and died July 30, 2017, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

She attended Aline High School and graduated along with her sister, Ida Mae, in 1942.

She worked at George Goodno Grocery, Aline; was employed at A Hathoot grocery Enid; and at Polly & Peggy's Cafe, Enid.

After high school, she moved to Enid and married Albert C. Brooks. They moved to Lawton, and later divorced.

Roberta stayed in Lawton, where she worked at the officer's club at Fort Sill. There, she met Artie C. Huffman. They married on May 31, 1955, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Artie was stationed in Germany for three years, where Roberta joined him. They moved to Hopkinsville, Kentucky, before Artie retired from the service. They lived there for the rest of their lives.

Roberta, known as "Bertie" or even "Foxy," as her license plate read, was always very passionate and outspoken, no matter the topic.

She always stayed excited about things, and often exclaimed, "Oh, goody!" when she thought she was going to get a gift or hear a good story.

She was a lifetime member of Weight Watchers, and adored cookbooks and cooking. She loved collecting and sharing recipes with others.

Even though she loved to cook, she also love to have breakfast nearly daily at her neighborhood Shoney's.

She loved her cats and babied them more than she did herself.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two half-brothers Wayne Robinson and Chester Dupus, and stepson Jerry Huffman.

She is survived by two sisters, Frances Mollet of Hoquiam, Wash., and Ida Mae Washam of Enid; one stepson Carl Huffman and his wife Tawnya; numerous nieces and nephews, and her dear friends Bill Wimberly, Mickey Wright, and Shirlee Young.
