Lisa Mischelle Huffman

Lisa Mischelle Huffman
Nov 11, 1974 ~ Aug 4,2016

Lisa Mischelle Huffman age 41 of Wayne passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2016 after a lengthy illness.

She was born on November 11, 1974 in Moore, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Jimmy C. Huffman and Carla Jane (Kerr).

During her early years, Lisa played girls softball, enjoyed bowling, swimming and chasing boys. In her freshman year in Gadsden, Alabama, Lisa was named the most improved bowler on her team and had the high score handicap on the team. While in Gadsden, she met her lifelong friend Kim Patton Rosser. Together they still share 28 years of friendship.

Lisa attended high school at Marion Military Institute in Marion, Alabama. While at MMI she obtained the rank as Sargent, was named "MVP" on the girls softball team her junior year, was selected as Team Captain on the softball team, was selected "home run" hitting champion and graduated with the class of 1993.

After high school she attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa for one year, focusing on general studies.

She then moved to Oklahoma and attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK for a short time before transferring to the Phoenix School of Business in Norman, OK. Lisa graduated with a 4.0 GPA in Paralegal Services.

She had worked as an assistant with a woman owned Construction Company for nearly one year and later as a Customer Service Representative at a call service center, assisting with Direct TV.

Lisa remained an avid, loyal and dedicated fan of the University of Alabama. She always was doing her part to help ensure that they would keep on winning. In her time they won five (5) National Championship Titles during the years of 1992, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2015. She was very visible and vocal for her love of the "Roll Tide."

Lisa has faced more than her fair share of challenges in her life, but we all remember her for her strength, determination and her lifelong creed of "never give up". Those that met Lisa will remember the young lady that made them smile, laugh and feel better about themselves. She will always be our HERO-both on earth and in heaven. From all of your friends and family, we will always love you Lisa. We wish you much peace and comfort.

She is survived by: Father and step-mother, Jim and Jo Huffman of Lewisburg, TN, Mother, Carla Saunders of Wayne, OK. Two brothers, Buck Huffman of Birmingham, AL, Bobby Saunders of Purcell, OK, Four nieces, Sabrina, Fiona, Raedyn and Braley. Aunts and uncles including, Teresa and Pat Brakefield of Wayne, James Kerr of Hinton, OK, Jerry and Charlene Huffman of OKC and David and Carol Huffman of Lamar, AR. Also several cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell, OK.
