Jamie Darlene (Britt) Hudson

Jamie Darlene (Britt) Hudson
September 14, 1956 ~ March 6, 2023

Jamie Darlene Hudson, 66-year-old Marietta, OK resident, passed away peacefully Monday, March 6, 2023, at the Mercy Love County Medical Center in Marietta. A private intimate gathering of family to memorialize Jamie and spread her ashes will be held in the upcoming weeks. Cremation services have been entrusted to the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Marietta.

Jamie began this life on September 14, 1956, in Sulphur, OK the daughter of James and Jeanett (Goodnight) Britt. She grew up and attended schools in Sulphur graduating with the Class of 1974. Jamie met Johnnie LeeRoy Hudson, Jr. while she was a senior in high school. The two later married on April 28, 1978, and were inseparable until Johnnie’s passing in March of 2022.

In 1986, Jamie began working at the Lake Country Nursing Center in Marietta. During her employment there, Jamie completed several trainings which allowed her to achieve her Certified Medical Assistant certificate (CMA). She had a servant heart and took great pride in caring for the elderly. Jamie also loved working in her garden and going fishing. So many things brought her great joy, but perhaps the thing she enjoyed most was spending time with and loving on her grandchildren.

Jamie was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanett Britt-Dudley; her father, James Britt; and by two sisters, Sue Scroggins and Chyrel Grantham.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons, James Preston Hudson of Helena, OK and Johnnie Hudson, III of Sulphur, OK; daughter, Stephanie Jordan and husband Charlie of Carrollton, TX; grandchildren, Montana Hudson and wife Kristen of Marietta, Hudson Jordan of Carrollton, Aaiden Hudson of Sulphur, Brittany Graves of Sulphur, Londyn Scott of Ardmore, OK, and Erica Thomas of Sulphur; great-grandchildren, Elaina and Serenity Hudson of Marietta and Midna and Link Thomas of Sulphur; an uncle, Donnie Goodnight of Sulphur; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives that she loved and adored.

Friends or family members that would like to honor Jamie’s memory through a donation can call American Nation Bank and contribute any amount toward the remaining balance on the land note for the home place. Jamie was very diligent in her obligation and always made the payments on time. She nearly had the note satisfied and surely would like nothing more than to have the note paid off so that the place can remain with the family.
