Donald L. Hudson, 65, passed in his Bartlesville home on September 12, 2020.
Don was born on September 24, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri, and grew up in Bartlesville, Oklahoma with his family. He was a long-time resident of Bartlesville, where he lived with his family—both family of origin, and the one he built for himself—throughout most of his life. Don worked for Phillips Petroleum, and later as an insurance adjuster. Don loved to travel for his jobs and had many adventures on auditing trips. Don, Pat, and their daughters lived in Wyoming, where Megan was born, and in Colorado. Don had a lifelong love of the mountains and the American West.
Don was an avid reader and accomplished photographer who loved to travel around Oklahoma to find the best sunsets and landscapes to capture on film. He had a long love affair with stock car racing, which he rarely missed watching. Don was a fan of baseball, particularly the Cardinals. He was a loving dog dad and loved to tell stories. Of all his interests, music was his passion. One of his most prized possessions was his eclectic and extensive collection of albums.
Don was a devoted father to Megan and Stephanie, and a steadfast friend to many.
Don is preceded in death by his mother and father, A.C and Veda May Ruth Hudson.
He is survived by his daughters, Megan and Stephanie, partner, Pat, sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Bert Smith, and nieces and nephews, Cindy, Steve, Cheryl, Chad, and Paul.
Memorial services will be held at Stumpff Funeral Home on Friday, September 18 at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Donald Hudson Memorial Fund, which will be distributed among several causes in honor of Don.
