Dennis Lowell Hudson was born in Dallas, Texas, on December 31, 1948, and was raised in Roff, Oklahoma.
He spent the majority of the last 40 years of his life in Shawnee Oklahoma and then ultimately moved to Oklahoma City, so he could be closer to his daughters.
Dennis was a hardworking man who spent much of his life as a bricklayer, traveling across the country helping build the foundations of countless structures. In his younger years, he also had a passion for racing cars-something that reflected his adventurous spirit and love for life.
Known for his quick wit, sense of humor, and larger-than-life personality, Dennis had a way of making people laugh and feel welcome. He was a fun and memorable character, and those who met him rarely forgot him.
Dennis was also part of a proud family legacy. His grandmother, Pearl Hudson, was the matriarch of the family businesses, one that continues today as Okie Brittle. In his later years, Dennis returned to the family tradition and worked as the company's packaging manager.
Above all, Dennis loved his family and his loyal dog, Lilly, who meant the world to him.
He is survived by his daughters, Melissa Hudson-Thornton & spouse Richard Thornton, and Kara Hudson & spouse Kristy Hudson, his stepdaughter, Gena Hutcheson & spouse David Hutcheson; and his stepson, Darren Rutherford. He was a proud grandfather to Britney Honsinger, Chelsey Moody; Chaz Moody, Dacey Hutcheson, Justin Thornton, Courtney Silas and Dylan Thornton; as well as a loving great-grandfather and great-great grandfather.
Dennis was preceded in death by his wife Anna Hudson, his parents, Louis Hudson and Joel Hudson, and his brothers, Bob Hudson and Max Hudson, and his great-granddaughter, Ava Silas.
Dennis was diagnosed with lung cancer on February 20, 2026, and passed away six days later on February 26, 2026.
In keeping with his wishes, no public services will be held. A small private family memorial will take place in Oklahoma City.
