Charles Duane Hudson, resident of Midwest City passed away on March 29, 2017. He was 67.
Charles was born on March 1, 1950 in Konawa, Oklahoma to Columbus Hudson and Bernice (Hall) Hudson. The son of a diesel mechanic for Amis Construction, he lived in numerous towns across Oklahoma growing up, and attended Sulphur High School.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was later Honorably Discharged.
He was married to Edith King on August 27, 1970 in Gainesville, TX. They were blessed with two sons.
Throughout his career, Charles worked at Schwab's Meat Co., King Valve, and Tinker AFB. He had many interests including working on vehicles and atv's, building projects, and fixing just about anything that needed attention. He shared his talents with his boys and always made time to help them learn and experience the things that caught their interest. Charles especially enjoyed spending all of the time that he could with Edith at their place at Lake Tenkiller. Whether spending time alone, or with a host of family, their lake place became a constant source of fulfillment. Throughout his life, Charles surrounded himself with loved ones and demonstrated through his actions the importance of family.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Edith Hudson; two sons, Joe Hudson and wife Jamie, and Jimmy Hudson and wife Lori; 5 grandchildren, Mitchell Hudson, Maddy Breuklander, Elisabeth Hudson, Kennedi Breuklander, and Haven Hudson; and one great-grandson, Aiden Hudson; sisters Barbara Reid, Diane Hale, and Mary Wright, brothers Paul Hudson, Dave Hudson and wife Donna and numerous brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, sister Karen Sue, and brother Johnny.
The family would also like to acknowledge the incredible support received from his caregivers; Lori Hudson, Diane Pine, Joyce McDonald, Sharonda Jones, Life Spring Hospice, Emerald Hospice, Lisa Benge and Debbie Wilmot of Life of Service.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Ford Funeral Services in Del City with Rev. Charles McDade, officiating.
