L. D. Hubbard was born December 27, 1933 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Gladys and William Cecil Hubbard. He passed away April 22, 2015 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 25 days.
L. D. attended Highway School before graduating from Merritt High School and then continued his education at Oklahoma State University where he studied veterinary medicine. He was married to Patsy Carlene Hubbard on November 22, 1953 and he later enlisted in the U.S. Army. After his discharge, L. D. returned to Elk City where he operated a carpet business with his brother, but mainly farmed. He enjoyed fishing, watching football and Western's on TV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter, Karen Denise Hubbard, and an infant son, Randy Hubbard.
He is survived by his son, Tony Hubbard, Midwest City, OK; 2 grandchildren, Jamie Nolen, Elk City, OK and James Hargrove, Dallas, TX; 3 great grandchildren, Victoria Gilreath, Aden Gilreath, and Emma Nolen, a brother, Bill Hubbard and wife, Lois, Elk City, OK; a brother-in-law, Larry Spieker, Elk City; host of other relatives and friends.
