Carolyn Jean (Fazzari) Howie
January 2, 1948 ~ February 20, 2019

Carolyn Jean (Fazzari) Howie born, January 2, 1948, in Sault Ste Marie, MI to Rosa (Sylvestro) Fazzari, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. and Michele Fazzari, of Calabria, Italy, passed away on February 20, 2019 in Bartlesville OK. Carolyn was a loving wife, a mother of four, and grandmother of nine.

Carolyn was raised in Sault Ste. Marie, MI and graduated from Loretto Catholic High School, in 1965. She attended Lake Superior State College for 2 years, before transferring to Western Michigan University to earn a bachelor's degree in education. She also earned a master's in education from Ohio State University.

Carolyn had a special gift for teaching special education for which she held numerous certifications. She taught in Enid OK, Tacoma, WA, Columbus, OH, and Bartlesville, OK.

She had an engaging sense of humor, was an excellent cook, especially of Italian food (world-class lasagna and pizzellis!!), and loved creating art.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Joseph; four children, Douglas Howie of Dallas, Steven Howie of Tulsa, Scott Howie of Tulsa, and Catherine Maxwell of Bartlesville; six siblings, Raymond Fazzari, Nancy Kelley, Antoinette Mancuso, Francis Hoholik, Ann Marie Woodall, and RoseAnne Barner; and nine grandchildren, Marley Fugett, Carlie Maxwell, Kelton Massara, Ava Howie, Jordan Howie, Matthew Howie, Barrett Howie, James Howie and KinsleeAnn Sparks. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Kenneth Fazzari, infant brother Michael James Fazzari, and her brothers-in-law Michael Hoholik, Kenneth Kelley, Gerry Mancuso, and James Woodall.

The family request that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Carolyn's family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home – Walker Brown Chapel, 918-333-7665, 4201 Nowata Rd, Bartlesville, on Friday, February 22, from 6-8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, at the Davis Family Funeral Home – Walker Brown Chapel. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home – Walker Brown Chapel.
