Barbara Christine "Granny" (Montgomery) Howerton
October 29, 1942 ~ March 10, 2021

Barbara "Granny" Howerton, of Tuttle, formerly of Pauls Valley, passed away March 10, 2021 in Tuttle, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years.

Barbara Christine Montgomery was born October 29, 1942 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to James Harvie Montgomery and Tressie Christine (Wheeler) Montgomery.

"Granny" graduated high school and lived in California for a time and then returned to make Pauls Valley her home most of her life. She was married to Paul Ray Howerton in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on December 2, 1964. She worked as a Private Caregiver to others as well as to her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, James H. Montgomery; her mother, Tressie Montgomery Lowery; and her husband, Paul Ray Howerton; two sisters, Lavonna Montgomery and Jan Effinger.

She is survived by her children, Butch Howerton of Pauls Valley; and Tina and Rodney Snelgrooes, of Harrison, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Josh Dial, Courtney & Tanner Tindell, Zakary Snelgrooes, Lea Snelgrooes, Chris Loveless, and Justin Loveless; her great grandchildren, Kyler, Mary, Wyatt, Porter and Bodie; and two brothers, Jimbo and Merry Jo Montgomery and Rodney Montgomery; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 3:30 pm at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Services for cremation are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
