Memorial services for Roy Lee Howell, 74, of Marietta, OK are set for 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022, at the All Faith Christian Church in Marietta.
Roy was born October 21, 1947 in Ardmore, OK, the son of Velma Lee (Cowan) and Roy Dale Howell. He passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022, at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.
Roy was a lifelong area resident. He was owner/operator of a recycling business. He married the love of his life Donna Kay Wiggins on August 22, 1969 in Gainesville, TX. Roy was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed gambling at the Border Casino, fishing and even though he earned a living at it, he enjoyed recycling junk. Roy loved spending time with his family and friends.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his bride of 53 years, Donna Howell; son, Roy William Howell and wife Shelly; daughter, Becky Beaird and husband Scotty; brothers, Lewis Howell, Jimmy Dale Howell, Charles Howell, Jess Howell, Joe Don Howell, Phillip Howell, Arvy Howell, Mark Howell, and Ricky Howell; sisters, Sharon Templeton, Bobbie Fullingim, Janet Freeman, Lelia Williams, and Joyce Helmer; and six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by four children, Wesley Dale Howell, Brenda Lee Howell, James Matthew Howell, and an unnamed child; grandmother, Mabel Hightower; grandmother, Lelia "Ma" Howell; and a brother, Glen Paul Howell.
Cremation under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta.
