Mateldia Evelyn (Parker) Howel

September 11, 1922 ~ November 17, 2010

Funeral services for Mateldia Evelyn (Parker) Howell, a longtime Coal county resident, were held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Brown's Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Rev. David Boggs officiating. Burial was in Ioof, Justin Cemetery in Justin, TX at 3:00 p.m.

Mrs. Howell was born September 11, 1922 in Milsap, TX to Benjamin Franklin and Mateldia lee (Bratcher) Parker and passed away November 17, 2010 at Coalgate, OK at the age of 88. She attended Pikes Peak Elementary and married Raymond Joe Howell on July 7, 1940 in Lindsay, OK. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1999. Mrs. Howell was a housewife and a member of the Assembly of god Church in Justin, TX.

Survivors include daughters, Eva Jo Gentry and husband Ray of Sasakwa, OK and Sue Ann Harper of Moyers, OK; son J.C. Howell and wife Nell of Coalgate, OK; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; fifteen great great grandchildren; brother Loren Parker of Bakersfield, CA; sister Theta Mae McComb of Idaho; along with numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives and loved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, A. T. Howell; great grandchildren Timothy Fylnn and Daniel Otts; fives sisters, and four brothers.

Casketbearers were Leonard Howell, Jesse Howell, Lee Harper, Eugene McCarty, Charles Byrd and Robie McCarty. Honorary bearers were Lloyd Byrd, Ben Harper and granddaughters.
