Richard Carl Howard

Apr. 11, 1923 ~ Apr. 8, 2007

Richard Carl Howard was born on April 11, 1923, to Robert and Minnie Howard in Seminole, Oklahoma.

He came to California in 1943, to Bakersfield in 1958, and to Shafter from 1968-1978.

He married Jenny Bell Turney on March 26, 1946, in Nipomo, CA.

He was a generator operator in the oil fields for a good portion of his life.

Richard is survived by his wife, Jenny Bell (Turney) Howard; daughter, Betty Jean and husband, Clifton Brown all of Bakersfield; sister, Gertrude Bonner of Phoenix, Arizona; 2 grandchildren, Richard Allen Brown and Kenny Roger; 1 grandson, Stephan Roger.

A graveside funeral service under the direction of Peters Funeral Home will be held at Shafter Memorial Park on Friday, April 13th, at 2:00 p.m., for Richard Carl Howard, age 83, of Bakersfield, who passed away April 8, 2007, in Bakersfield.

A visitation will be held at Peters Funeral Home on Thursday, April 12th, from 2-8 p.m.
