Joseph (Joe) William Howard Jr., 76, of Moore, OK went home to be with his savior on Thursday July 18th 2019 in Enid, OK. He was born January 3, 1943 in Chapman, KS to Joe & Emily Howard.
Joe had many different occupations in life to include Private Investigator, & Radio DJ, but he spent most of his life in ministry including singing, chaplain, and preaching. He loved people and always made a lasting impression wherever he went. He had a wonderful sense of humor in every situation.
He was a widower 3 times in life. First by Betty Trotter (1978), then by Sherry Gorrell (1992), then Barbara Ulbrich (2008). He married Teresa Lynn Truelock in 2009 and lived with her and adopted daughter Ryan in Moore until June 2019 when he moved to the nursing home in Enid.
Besides his first three wives, he was preceded in death by parents Joe & Emily Howard, sisters Pat Umscheid, & Darlene Autry, and brother Earl Howard.
He is survived by one sister Jolene Lockwood, of Shawnee, OK, and one brother Edwin (Scottie) Howard of Harold, OK; his wife Teresa Howard and adopted daughter Ryan of the home (Moore, OK); children Jody Howard (New Town, ND), Stephanie Roberts and husband Brent (Enid, OK), and Lyle Howard (Ponca City, OK); and many grandchildren who loved their “Papa Joe.”
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Emmanuel Baptist Church Chapel with Pastor Abraham Wright officiating.
