Don Howard was born on June 1, 1947 in Yukon, OK to Archie and Lorene Howard. He passed peacefully from this life on March 11, 2014 at his residence in Oklahoma City. Don was one of 3 children.
Don married the love of his life, Clydene Truelove, on July 15th, 1967. They had three blessings in boys: Mike, Scott and Chris.
Don was a graduate of John Marshall High School, and excelled in both football and wrestling, winning many awards and titles. Later Don earned his degree from International Bible Institute and Seminary, which served him well later in life as he worked in the ministry at Bethel Christian Center in Choctaw Ok. Before his years in the ministry, Don was a buyer for Fleming Foods and later Scrivener foods. Later in life he managed Best Yet Grocery store in Yukon OK, and then became a member of Management for Walmart Stores, where he became fondly known as Don Co.
In his retirement years, Don loved woodworking and being a blessing to others, but most of all his passion was his faith and family. Don was passionate about his family and took great pride in being a husband, father, and one of the high points of his life, being a papa.
Don is survived by his loving wife of almost 47 years, Clydene; sons, Mike and his wife Julie of Mustang, OK, Scott and his wife Shelia of Mansfield, Texas and Chris of Oklahoma City; the prides of his life were his grandchildren, Cody, Clay and Caden; brother, Tony and wife Sharron; sister, Susie and husband Mike, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his mother and father.
We will honor Don with a memorial service at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Bethel Christian Center, Choctaw, OK
