Donald Eugene Howard
December 27, 1932 ~ September 1, 2017

Donald Eugene Howard passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017 in Ponca City. He was 84 years old. A funeral ceremony will be held at Trout Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Grant officiating. Friends and family may come by the funeral home to pay their respects on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 until 8:00 p.m. 

Don was born on December 27, 1932 in Oklahoma City to his parents, Clyde Earl Howard and Rosa (Lovell) Howard. He attended Northern Oklahoma Junior College and Northeastern State University graduating with a bachelor's degree. He married Patti McConnel-Robertson on December 31, 1967 in Del City, Oklahoma. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary later this year. 

Don purchased the A&W Drive In Restaurant in the early 1960's and later changed it to the Pioneer Root Beer Drive In. He and his wife Patti later established the Patticake House where he would bake birthday cakes, wedding cakes, and cinnamon rolls while Patti would decorate the birthday and wedding cakes.

Don will be missed and remembered by his wife, Patti of the home, sons, Rocky Robertson of Magnolia, TX, Don Howard II of Ponca City, sister, Beulah Thornton of Del City, OK, grandsons, Christopher Robertson of Hockley, TX, Andrew Robertson of Houston, TX, Trevor Howard of Ponca City, Tyler Howard of Ponca City, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, Vaughn and Avery Robertson of Hockley, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, C.E. Howard, and sisters, Eva Jean Pickens and Leota Hamilton. 

Honorary Casketbearers will be: Christopher Robertson, Andrew Robertson, Trevor Howard, Tyler Howard, and Tom Thornton.
