Kathy Ann (Cody) Houska

Kathy Ann (Cody) Houska
October 19, 1954 ~ January 15, 2016

Celebration of life services for Kathy Ann Houska, 61, Enid, will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Government Springs Park Gazebo. Arrangements are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service and Cremation Directors.

Kathy Ann Houska was born on October 19, 1954 in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Leonard Allen and Florence Teresa Riggs Cody, and passed away peacefully on January 15, 2016 in Oklahoma City. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her best friend and husband, Ron Houska. She had a deep love for her two daughters, Ann and Amy, whom she was proud of. Kathy's heart was full of love she received from her granddaughter, Danielle, two grandsons Curtis and Michael and great-granddaughter Rilynn. Kathy was blessed to have the love and support from her husband's family. Kathy had had many cousins that she grew up with and had cherished memories.

Kathy enjoyed planting flowers in the spring and being outdoors, feeling the sunshine upon her face and visiting with her neighbors. She was a wonderful cook, taking after her mother, Florence Cody. Kathy loved her and Ron's Schnauzer, Maxi.

In earlier years, Kathy took much pride in caring for the elderly in the nursing homes. She enjoyed the great rock music of the 70's and 80's, with her favorite song "Freebird" by Lynyrd skynyrd.

Survivors include her husband, Ron of the residence; daughters, Ann Marie Baltimore and Amy L. Firestone-Shelite, both of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Danielle Marie Lee, Curtis Joel Firestone, and Michael Austin Shelite, all of Oklahoma; great-grandchild, Rilynn Michelle Ashcraft of Oklahoma; son-in-law, Michael Shelite of Oklahoma; sister-in-laws, Sister Angela Marie Houska, Flo Vasquez both of Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Don Houska of Oklahoma; niece, Michelle and husband Randall Scott and their son, Landen of Oklahoma; and many close cousins from Oklahoma and Kansas.

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around you and whispered "Come to Me". (Author unknown).

Godspeed
