Sandy Houser, 74 year old Woodward resident, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 at her home in Woodward. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the Woodward Church of the Nazarene. Private family burial will take place at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Sandra Lee (Thomas) Houser was born on October 17, 1947 in Gary, Indiana to Warden Burr and Etta Marie (Race) Thomas. Sandy grew up in Willow Hill, Illinois and attended Willow Hill schools and graduated from Willow Hill High School. She was united in marriage to Donovan Dean Jackson on October 23, 1962 and they made their home in Newton, Illinois. Sandy raised her boys and was a lady of many talents.
She was united in marriage to Victor Houser on September 8, 1979. They moved to Woodward on Thanksgiving day in 1979 and she has lived here since that time.
She was a long time ABATE member, the Relay for Life member and the Red Hat Society. Sandy loved spending time with her boys, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, especially her great-granddaughter Enzlee Taylor Faye Jackson who was one of the greatest loves of her life.
Survivors include her sons: Robert Jackson and wife Angla, Lee Jackson and wife Delena, Vic Houser; one sister, Donna Short; eight grandchildren: Ryan Jackson, Zach Jackson and wife Skyler, Elliot Boone and wife Amanda, Heather Pack and husband Stephen, Dillon Thomas and wife Drew, Labon Chappell, Daniel Chappell, Nathen Chappell; ten great-grandchildren: Trinity Chappell, Ethan and Isaac Pack, Garrett Jackson, Mya, Jaxson, and Olen Thomas, Taylor MacMillan, Miles Wilson, and Enzlee Jackson; 2 special nieces Pamela and Gennie Chambers; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Curtis Haynes, mother, Etta Marie Thomas, father, Burr Thomas, sisters, Virginia Smith, Bernie Kolley, Betty Vanetta, Fonda Bracket, one brother Melvin (Bunky) Hill, daughter-in-law, Shirley Boone, and a very special niece Pamela Chambers and many, many friends and family members.
