Janice Sue (Bennett) Horton
January 17, 1951 ~ October 6, 2024

Janice Sue Bennett Horton, aged 73, born on January 17, 1951, in Tulsa, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on October 6, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was a passionate and loving individual known for her deep appreciation for music, cooking, scrapbooking, holiday decorating and entertaining. Janice's nurturing spirit extended beyond her family, touching the lives of many who were not her biological relatives but whom she affectionately referred to as her kids.

Janice pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern State University in Business Administration before embarking on a fulfilling career as the secretary for Skelly school in Chewey, Oklahoma from 1991 until 2001. She worked a few other administrative jobs before pursuing a career as a Certified Medical Coder for the Cherokee Nation. Her professional commitment and meticulous attention to detail were widely recognized and respected by her colleagues and peers.

She is survived by her son, Jason "J.D." Henson and wife Misty, sister Patricia E. Wyers, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Rex A. and Jane E. Bennett, her biological father Jean Fowler and brother Mike Fowler, her brother Danny J. Bennett and his wife Sherrie and son Richard A. Henson Jr.

Janice's life will be celebrated at a memorial service scheduled for 11:00 am on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Shipman Funeral Home in Wagoner, Oklahoma. The service will be officiated by Life Celebrant Anita J. Shipman.

Janice's legacy of love, warmth, and generosity will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
