Jay E. Horton

February 25, 1922 ~ December 4, 2005

Jay E. Horton, age 83, Chickasha resident, died Sunday, December 4, 2005. He was born February 25, 1922 in Breckenridge, TX to James E. and Ada (Crawford) Horton. He grew up South of Humphrey, OK near Altus.

He was in the US Navy and served his country during WWII. In 1948 he moved to OKC and was the owner of Auto Precision Motors for many years before retiring in 1989.

He was a Baptist and was a Shriner and member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife LaVerne of the home, and one son Larry Horton of Chickasha. Also two brothers Jim Horton of OKC and Bruce Horton of Wheatland, and one sister Erma Wilson of Wheatland, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Jerry Eugene, five brothers Finis, Arthur, Andrew, Calvin and Wendell, and four sisters Ruby, Edna, Minnie, Edith and Irene.

Memorial services with Military Honors and Masonic Rites will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2005 in The Chapel Of The Good Shepherd, McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service, Mustang, OK.
