Judith Elaine (Harp) Horn

Judith Elaine (Harp) Horn
May 7, 1936 ~ January 10, 2022

Judith Elaine Horn passed away peacefully on January 10, 2022 in Norman, OK at the age of 85 years.

Judy was born on May 7, 1936 in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado. She was the daughter of C.L. "Jack" Harp and Esther Mae Harp (Buchanan). Judy graduated from Pawnee High School in 1954 and went on to graduate from Cottey College for Girls in 1956. She later graduated from Murray State College in Tishomingo, Oklahoma and received her LPN certification. She continued studying nursing and received her cap as a Registered Nurse. She and Jim lived in many towns in Oklahoma but eventually moved to Cleveland, Oklahoma, in 1986 and both retired from Central Tech in Drumright, Oklahoma where she was a Practical Nursing instructor. She moved to Norman to be closer to her sons in 2018 after the passing of her husband.

Judy met the love of her life while living in Pawnee. She and Jim were married in 1956 and had four boys. She always loved nursing and worked for hospitals and private practice doctors through the years, but eventually ended up teaching and sharing her passion with many, many students through the years at Central Tech.

Judy loved artwork and crafting while at home. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, Sudoku, needlepoint, sewing and decorative painting. She was also crazy about her pets and always seemed to have one or two around the house. The last two, Roxy and Annie, were definitely the rulers of the house.

Mom was a retired registered nurse, a homemaker, a wife, a grandmother, and a great grandmother, but, best of all, she was Mom.

Survivors are her three sons Lil' Jim Horn and wife Missey of Anchorage, Alaska, Jon Horn and wife Laura of Norman, Oklahoma, and Jeff Horn and wife Julie of Norman, Oklahoma. She had six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Her fourth son, Joseph, preceded her in death from a snowmobile accident while living in Alaska. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jim.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Fuller. Services are under the direction of Chapman-Black Funeral Home in Cleveland, Oklahoma. Please visit an online guestbook and memorial for Judy at www.chapman-black.com.
