Cheryl Ann (Ogden) Hooper

Cheryl Ann (Ogden) Hooper
January 21, 1951 ~ January 14, 2022

Cheryl Ann Hooper passed from this life on January 14, 2022 at the age of 70 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Cheryl was born on January 21, 1951 in Oklahoma City, the daughter of Eugene Murl Ogden and Donna Maude (Ogden) Scott. Cheryl attended Kaiser Elementary school, Taft Junior High and Northwest Classen High School through the middle of her sophomore year. The family moved to Irving, Texas at that time. Cheryl graduated from MacArthur High School in Irving Texas. After graduation Cheryl started working at Jerrell Fashions.

Cheryl met Edwin John Hooper and they were united in marriage on December 17, 1978 at the First Christian Church in Irving, Texas. They were married 27 years until her husband passed away in 2005. Cheryl worked as a private secretary to management positions of apartments and properties; Cheryl worked the longest with CRBE.

Cheryl was a lover of animals, but especially her dogs and cats. She enjoyed reading and gardening. Cheryl was a lifetime monthly donor to St Jude's Hospital. Cheryl also was a lover of the Beatles, and at one time she had every one of their albums. Jeopardy was a favorite time of the evening for Cheryl. According to family, Cheryl was smart, witty, a loving Christian lady, a little bit sarcastic but very strong. When the family would get together Cheryl would always say the same thing as she prepared to leave: "It's been a little slice of heaven, but I've got to go." Cheryl has had struggles over the years, battling breast and lung cancer. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Cheryl is survived by her sisters, Shelley Williams (Stephen) of Lubbock, Texas; Carol Torres (DeWayne) of Guthrie, Oklahoma; Dorothy Brown (Bruce) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Also her brothers, Jeremiah Scott (Catharine) of Glendale, California; John Scott (Marsha) of Enid, Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband Edwin Hooper; her bonus dad, Jack Scott and her grandparents.

Service will be held at Lakeview Church at 122 W Seward Road in Guthrie, Oklahoma on January 21, 2022 at 10:30 am. Pastor Chris Wilkerson will be officiating.
