Emily Dawn Hood passed away on November 26, 2021, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma at the age of 45. Emily was born on March 9, 1976, in Bryan, Texas to David Thomas Moore and Junelle Beth (Minton) Moore.
Emily graduated from Ponca City High School in 1995, and then went on to pursue her Bachelors of Elementary at Oklahoma State University, and her Master of Counseling at Oklahoma Central University. She was a Licensed Professional Counselor at Children’s Therapeutic Strategies, PLLC.
In 1998, she married the love of her life, Danny Hood. Emily’s biggest accomplishments were being the best wife, mother, daughter, and sister in the world. She enjoyed anything outdoors, being with friends and family, laughing and telling silly stories, making fun memories, decorating, crafts, collecting fun shoes and t-shirts, and watching television with the family. Some of her most important days were when she married her husband on May 16, 1998, the birth of her son, Nate, on September 12, 2003, and the birth of her second son, Luke, on September 29, 2006.
Emily is survived by her husband, Danny Hood; children, Nate Hood, 18, and Luke Hood, 15, of Bartlesville, OK; her parents David and Junelle Moore of Fayetteville, Arkansas; her sister Jennifer Brock and brother-in-law David Brock, her nephew Eli brock, and her niece Toria Brock, all of Tulsa, OK; her father-in-law Larry and mother-in-law Donna Hood of Sayre, OK; her brother-in-law Darrell Hood; her sister-in-law Suzi Hood; her nephew Cooper Hood, her niece Addyson Hood, all of Blanchard, OK; her brother-in-law Darren Hood, her sister-in-law Kaci Hood, her nieces Morgin Lohberger and Kynlee Wehernberg, her nephew Sebastian Hood, all of Sayre, OK.
A celebration of Emily's life will be held on Friday, December 3rd, at 2pm, at First Christian Church, in Bartlesville, with Reverend Kelley Becker officiating. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the church asks that you please wear a mask if attending.
Emily loved colors, so the family asks that you wear bright, fun colors to honor Emily! Also, there will be time during the service to share brief stories about Emily!
An outdoor reception will follow the service at Unity Square, 300 SE Adams Blvd, Bartlesville, OK, where snacks will be provided.
