Charles Richard “Chuck” Holt
October 16, 1947 ~ January 15, 2024

Charles Richard “Chuck” Holt was born on October 16, 1947, in Martins Ferry, Ohio to Samuel Henry and Mary Ann Bell (Allen) Holt. Charles passed away on January 15, 2024, in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 76. Chuck moved to Bryan County in 1969 and later married Mary Carleen Rafiner on October 30, 1995. Chuck worked as a handyman and volunteered at the Hands of Hope Food Bank in Durant for 28 years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Durant, and he enjoyed tinkering, volunteering, playing dominoes with Grandpa “Doc”, and spending time with his family, friends, and his lap dogs, “Rat” and “Worm”.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Mary Holt and sisters Barbara Holt, Carol Holt, and Henry Holt.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife Mary Holt of the home; step children Pearl and Derek Holt, Samuel Gardner, Gregory and wife Sheyeon Gardner, Carl and wife Jennifer Gardner, Ronald and wife Jai Gardner, and Billy Gardner; grandchildren Lucille Wann, Elizabeth Wann, Kaylee Gardner, Caleb Hodges, Alex Gardner, Luke Gardner, Kai Gardner, Abby Gardner, Emma Gardner, Jenna Gardner, Melanie Gardner, Alisia Gardner, and Allson Gardner; 2 great grandchildren and numerus extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bishop Chalk Simons will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Derek Holt and Samuel Gardner. The family will receive friends at 9:30 AM prior to the service at the Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hands Of Hope https://handsofhopeok.org/.
