Barbara Joyce (Louthan) Holsapple was born on February 21, 1948 in Mooreland, OK, the oldest child of Earnest Eugene and Mary Ellen (Sander) Louthan. She passed from this life on April 12, 2018 in Seiling Nursing Home at the age of 70 years, 1 month, and 22 days.
Barbara was raised on the family farm west of Seiling, and attended Seiling Public Schools, graduating from Seiling High with the Class of 1966. She married Frank Holsapple on May 12, 1973 and moved to the Oakwood area where she lived until her death. She ran the Foster's Convenience Store and cooked at the Mid Way Café in Oakwood for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, birdwatching, and flowers.
She was preceded in death by parents Earnest and Mary Ellen Louthan; parents-in-law Clifford "Doc" and Alma Holsapple; brother-in-law Keith Davis; and sister-in-law Marian Ellen Holsapple.
Barbara is survived by her husband of nearly 45 years, Frank Holsapple of the home; son Eric Benton and wife Kim of Killeen, TX; three grandchildren Kayla, Kyle, and Bradley Benton; three siblings Ralph Louthan and wife Deena of Seiling, Cathy Taylor and husband Larry of Bella Vista, AR, and Debbie Davis of Lubbock, TX; brother-in-law Fred Holsapple of Oakwood; as well as many nephews, nieces, and other relatives.
Per her personal request, private family services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Oakwood Fire Department, with Redinger Funeral Home (Box 236, Seiling, OK 73663) serving as custodian of the funds.
