Maxine Mary Joy (Zaloudek) Holmes, age 91, of Stillwater, died Wednesday, January 25, 2024. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.
Mary was born to Clyde and Maxine Zaloudek of Hillsdale, Oklahoma on December 9, 1932 in the middle of a blizzard. Mary's mother passed away shortly after her birth. She was then raised by her grandparents Anthony and Emma Zaloudek. She married Don Lincoln and then graduated from Enid High School in 1950. In 1958 their daughter Dell Lynn was born. Mary and Don eventually divorced, and several years later she married Roy Holmes.
Mary worked in the medical field for Dr. A.W. Janzen of Enid and Pulmonary Physicians at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas where she retired in 2004. She moved to Stillwater in 2004 where she was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Mary was predeceased by her sister Dawn Ward.
She is survived by her daughter Dell Lynn Livsey; her brother Duane Zaloudek; and her special granddaughter, Shylah Cross.
Mary was affectionately known as Mama Mary to all her girls. Her life was a blessing and her memory a treasure. She is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
