Henry L. Holmes Jr.
January 6, 1928 ~ December 31, 2013

Henry L. Holmes Jr., born January 6, 1928 to Henry and Susie Holmes in Brooklyn New York, passed away December 27, 2013.

Henry was a graduate of Sewanhaka High School in 1945.

He joined the United States Navy in July of 1945 and served until July of 1948. While in the Navy, Henry completed pre-flight training in 1947 and attended Basic Flight training in 1948.

After military service Henry attended Tufts College and Adelphi College. Henry obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the State of New York on March 25, 1977.

Henry is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Isabelle Irene Holmes. He is survived by his sister Billie Nadyne, his daughter Margaret, and his two sons Robert and Bryan. Henry is also survived by a nephew, nieces, 10 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

Henry retired from Civil Service at Tinker Air Force Base in January of 1988 as a Communications Technician. Henry was a 32nd-degree Mason who was recently recognized for 50 years of membership. He was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of Soldier Creek Baptist Church.
