Modena Holloway

Modena Holloway
 ???? ~ October 12, 2017

It is with a heavy heart that the family of Modena Holloway announces her passing. She went to be with the Lord on October 12, 2017. We know he greeted her with open and loving arms, because he was her Lord and Savior. One of her passions was helping others spread the gospel. She modeled her life after Christ, in that she was a servant to her family. She never once denied a request to help her daughter, son-in- law, grandchildren or granddogs. She leaves a legacy of love and devotion to family.

Modena grew up in Stilwell and attended Northeastern State College in Tahlequah where she earned an education degree. She went on to be not only a teacher, but a self employed business woman. In her later years she moved to Florida to be near her daughter. There she worked for many years in her son-in-law Rick's real estate business, serving him with unquestioned devotion.

At the time of her passing she had a clear sharp mind and determined self reliant, indomitable spirit. She was greatly admired for her positive outlook and perseverance. She will be greatly missed.

A special soft side of my mom, that few knew, was her love, care and devotion of the family puppies. She took care of them for 30 years, even breaking a hip helping our elderly dog get up. At the time of her passing she was attended by Mitizi and Piper, the family shih tzus.

She passed suddenly and quietly in her sleep, only a few days after welcoming her third granddaughter into the world.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Kenny, son-in-law Rick, grandsons Richard and Douglas, their wives Caroline and Jennifer, and three beautiful granddaughters, Brylin 3 years, Reece 6 months, and Savannah 2 weeks, brother Kenneth of Stillwell and sister Vera of Ozark, MO.

Friends and family of Modena are invited to a Remembrance Service at high noon at the home of Kenneth Holloway on Saturday, December 2nd.
