John Timothy Hollar

John Timothy Hollar
August 29, 1954 ~ October 22, 2020

A Celebration of Life service for John Timothy Hollar, 66, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 31 at the Christ for the Nations Institute, Institute Building, 3315 Conway Street, Dallas, TX 75224.

Born August 29, 1954 at Loves Valley, the son of James Monroe and Syble Faye Rains Hollar, he left this earth and triumphantly entered heaven “glory to God” on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family.

On January 7, 1971 he married his high school sweetheart Ann Marie Lemke. He loved her every day of their life together for over 50 years. John graduated from Thackerville High School and continued his education at Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas from 1976 to 1978. He received a master’s degree in Theology from Zoe International University and a Doctor of Divinity from Life Christian University. In 1977, John was ordained into ministry at Christ for the Nations Institute where he served as Dean of Families from 2000 to 2019, Adjunct Professor, Executive Board Member, and Institute Director. He pastored and planted many churches and was a pastor to pastors throughout the United States, most recently as overseer of The Five Conference.

John worked for Santa Fe Railroad from 1973 to 1982. He was a prolific guitar player, a talented artist and lover of horses. He was an intellectual thinker and a lover of literature. As a preacher and a teacher, the revelation of the gospel of grace and faith that he declared and lived transformed countless lives.

John was preceded in death by his parents, James Monroe and Syble Faye Hollar and a grandson, Jonathan Monroe Hollar.

Survivors include his wife Ann aka “The prettiest girl in whatever county they lived in,” of the home; brother, Tony Hollar and wife Sandra of Ardmore; children, Eric Hollar and wife Heather of McKinney, Texas, Brandon Hollar and wife Jennifer of Kyle, Texas and Jennifer Miller and husband Derek of Dallas; grandchildren, Maddie Clair, Morgan, Laurel, Coy, John Dylan, Naomi, Sophie, Pierce, Macey, and Maxwell; great-grandchildren, Boston Rylee and Tessa Rose; and multiple in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Coy Hollar, Dylan Hollar, Pierce Miller, Brandon Hollar, Eric Hollar, and Derek Miller. Honorary bearers are Morgan Hollar, Maddie Hollar, Laurel Hollar, Naomi Hollar, Sophie Miller, Macey Hollar, and Maxwell Miller.
