Jim was born on March 31st, 1937 in Hobart, Oklahoma. He graduated from Warner High School in 1955 and attended Bethany Nazarene College. Jim joined the United States Army in September of 1956 and served our country with the 588th Engineers Division. In June of 1957 he married Sherrill. They were married for 61 years.
Jim was an expert automotive technician and teacher. With Sherill by his side, they had many memorable adventures. Life has been full of vacations, lake trips with family and friends, hobbies, hard work, and serving the Church. Jim was a gifted story teller, selfless and committed family man, and treated everyone with respect. He is known for his infectious smile, and his ability to repair anything. Although we will miss him greatly, we celebrate his homecoming with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
On December 19th, 2018, James (Jim) Harrold Holcomb, passed away peacefully at the age of 81.
Jim will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend, Sherill; his daughter, Anita Stone; his son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Christy Holcomb; and son-in-law, Eric Stone.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James Franklin and Imogene Holcomb, and brother in law, Bob Hess.
Jim will also be remembered by five grandchildren, Kyle James and wife Jordan, Chris and wife Hannah, Kelsi and husband Brock, David Stone and Marleigh Dwyer, and Private 2nd Class Mark Stone of the United States Army. His most treasured gifts are his great grandchildren, Rhett James, Jack Walter, and Ellie Joy Holcomb, and coming soon, Rowan Emberly Stone. Jim is also survived by his sister and brother in law, Dorothy and Sam Edmonds and sister, Marge Hess. Jim also has many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins that he cherished very much.
