Donald Eugene Hogue, 77, of Barnsdall, Oklahoma, passed away on September 11, 2017 at the Barnsdall Nursing Home.
Mr. Hogue was born October 8, 1939, in Barnsdall, Oklahoma, to Elbert and Florence Mae (Whitley) Hogue.
He married Oresa Downing on November 11, 1962 in Fairfax, Oklahoma. The couple enjoyed having their wedding anniversary on a holiday so they could spend the day together. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Barnsdall. He worked for many years in the oilfields and then for the city of Barnsdall prior to his retirement. Although he spent a lot of time at work he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Oresa Hogue; daughter, Marla Parker and her husband, Rick; son, James Hogue and his wife, Debbie; daughter, Janet Sanders and her husband, William; sister Judy Sisk; brother, Wayne Hogue and his wife Joyce; sister-in-law, Louise Hogue; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tracy Dian Hogue; sister, Martha Schmidt; and brother Elbert (Sam) Hogue.
The family will be holding a memorial service 2 p.m. Friday, September 15 at the Freewill Baptist Church in Barnsdall, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are with the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
