Dave Lee Hoffman

Dave Lee Hoffman
February 20, 1948 ~ December 7, 2023

Dave Lee Hoffman, of Prague, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, December 7th, 2023, at the age of 75. Dave was born on February 20th, 1948, in El Reno, Oklahoma. He was the son of Ray Vernon and E. Maxine (McDaniel) Hoffman. As a boy, Dave and his famiy moved to Prague, where he attended Prague High School and was a member of the 1966 graduating class. Immediately following high school, Dave enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served his country for ten years. Dave was incredibly proud of his service and was known for his patriotic spirit.

Dave worked for many years for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT). He began his career with ODOT in 1987 and retired in 2009. Dave did a little bit of everything at ODOT. During the summers, he was part of the mowing crew and during the winter, the road clearing crew. He worked and oversaw many of the rest stops in the area as well.

Dave was kindhearted and giving person. He never met a stranger and would carry on a conversation with anyone. He loved to make people smile with his wit and orneriness. Dave loved to be outdoors. He spent many hours sitting on his porch, watching birds and taking in nature's beauty. He kept and maintained a beautiful yard and took great care of it. In June of 2021, Dave rededicated his life to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and he has been an active member of the Prague First Assembly of God Church, ever since.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of ten years, Pamela Elaine Hoffman; his parents and his brother-in-law, Billy Erb.

Those left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Amber Hoffman of Midwest City and Laura Lavigne of New Jersey; two sons, Chad Hoffman and his wife, Yesenia, of Yukon and Bates Hoffman of New Jersey; two brothers, Larry Hoffman and his wife, Nancy, of Muskogee and DeWane Hoffman and his wife, Louise, of McAlester; his sister, Janice Erb of Wellston; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
