Terry Hoefar, loving husband and father, coach, mentor, and devoted friend, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2007 at the age of 64.
While enduring the hustle and bustle of his everyday corporate American life, he escaped the skyscraper and concrete landscape for his five-acre dream horse ranch.
Terry devoted his life to providing and caring for his family and friends, sharing his passion for the outdoors, hunting in the mountains of Colorado, and mentoring youth through his leadership and sportsmanship as a little league baseball and softball coach. His tremendous work ethic, loyalty, selflessness, and positive can-do attitude were contagious and ever present. His laughter and smile brightened every room and uplifted others’ spirits. Terry will be terribly missed by all of those that loved and respected him.
Preceding Terry in death was his father, Willie Oscar Hoefar; and stepfather, Raymond Hoefar.
Terry is survived by his wife Janet McGehee Hoefar of Haslet, Texas; his mother, Juanita Cheves Hoefar of Dill City; one son, Colby Hoefar and wife Victoria of Elbert, Colorado; one daughter, Michelle Baker and husband John of Rhome, Texas; one brother, Bill Hoefar and wife Dolora of Cordell. He thoroughly enjoyed spoiling and playing with his young grandsons, Brannock Hoefar and Wyatt Baker. Terry is also survived by special friends, the Gailus family of Arvada, Colorado, Ron, Linda, Dana and Nobi; Art Fagan of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Harry Espree of Crowley, Texas; and numerous other relatives and many friends.
