Cleo Springs – Aurora Sanchez Hodgden, loving and loved wife of Robert, mother of Stefani and Arturo, mother – in – law of Kirk and sister of Lydia Linares, passed away June 4, 1999 at the age of 59 years.
Aurora was born in Laredo, Texas to Arturo and Maria Sanchez who continue to reside at their lifelong home in Laredo, Texas. Aurora's early education began at Ursuline Academy in Laredo followed by her collegiate education at Texas Women's University, Pratt, Institute of New York, and Oklahoma State University, where she completed her doctorate. Aurora reveled in the endeavors of child raising, friendship, secondary and university teaching, being a 4 – H sponsor, and many other activities.
Aurora is survived by many friends and relatives that loved her in life and will cherish her memory.
A gathering for friends of Aurora will take place on Sunday, June 6, 1999 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the home of Bruce Hodgeon, southwest of Enid, Oklahoma (located 3 miles south of Owen K. Garriott on Imo Road and 1.5 miles west on Fox Drive.) Funeral will take place on Saturday, June 12 at Our Lady of Guadelupe Church in Laredo, Texas, at 8:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cleo Springs Emergency Response Assistance, Box 35, Cleo Springs, OK 73729.
