Let us pause to honor the memory of Mr. Terry Wayne Hockenbury.

Mr. Terry Wayne Hockenbury, age 64, of Ponca City, Oklahoma entered this life on April 12, 1955. He was the loving son of Kenneth Eugene Hockenbury and Maxine Louise Jenkins Hockenbury. Born and raised right here in Ponca City, along with his brother, Dennis.

From an early age, Terry was a musician. He began playing guitar at the tender age of 8. He also sang and played the piano and violin. Terry was a very private person and didn’t have much to say until he got up on stage, that’s when he would light up the room. He was a founding member of the local Ponca City band “Prezence” as well as the “Land of OZ” out of Wichita. Some of his favorite bands were the Beatles and Journey. Terry was an animal lover and owned a beloved dog and a parakeet. He worked as a communication specialist at Conoco.
