Iven Wesley Hobbs

???? ~ April 14, 1979 | Age 84

Iven Wesley Hobbs, 84, Midwest City, died suddenly Saturday morning at his home.

Born on January 10, 1894 in Kent County, Texas, Mr. Hobbs was married to Addie May Black, who preceded him in death in in 1934. He was later married to Roxie O. Tunnell in Carlsbad, New Mexico, who preceded him in death in 1968.

A cowboy and a truck driver by trade, Mr. Hobbs moved to Midwest City two months ago, previously residing in Lovington, New Mexico where he was a member of the Senior Citizens Club and the Baptist Church of Otis.

Hobbs is survived by three daughters, Bertha Byrd of Lovington, New Mexico, Bernice Ketner of Midwest City, and Linda Tucker of Carlsbad, New Mexico; two sons, Audra Hobbs of Logan, New Mexico and Ray Hobbs of Midwest City; 11 grandchildren; and several great – grandchildren.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 AM in the Smith – Rogers Funeral Home in Lovington, New Mexico, with Rev. Wesley Byrd, associate pastor of Cleveland Road Baptist Church, Enid, who is a grandson, officiating. Burial will follow at 3 PM Tuesday in a Carlsbad, New Mexico, Cemetery. Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
