SIDNEY REESE HINKLE, AGE 77, WARDS CHAPEL AREA RESIDENT, FORMER DIXIE-GRANGEVILLE, IDAHO RESIDENT.

BORN:    MAY 29, 1918 AT BANDON, OREGON TO EARL B.  AND CHLOE (GREENWAY) HINKLE.

PASSED AWAY:   SUNDAY, DECEMBER 24, 1995 AT ATOKA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, OK.

AGE:   77 YEARS   6  MONTHS  AND    25  DAYS.

EDUCATION:   ATTENDED SCHOOLS AND GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL AT BANNING, CA.

MARRIED:     MAE BLOSSOM GRAVES ON FEBRUARY 12, 1939 AT RED BLUFF, CA.

OCCUPATION:    WHOLESALE GASOLINE DISTRIBUTOR, REDDING, CA.

HE WORKED FOR THE SAN BERNADINO NATIONAL FOREST WHILE LIVING IN CALIFORNIA, ALSO WORKED IN CONSTRUCTION OF THE DIVERSION TUNNEL FOR SHASTA DAM. HE WAS PARTNERS WITH HIS FATHER FOR 20 YEARS IN HINKLE'S MARKET AND NORWALK GASOLINE DISTRIBUTORS.  HE ALSO HELD INTEREST IN CHASE LIVESTOCK TRUCKING AND DON SMITH LOGGING IN REDDING. AFTER MOVING TO GRANGEVILLE, HE WAS PART OWNER IN THE SELWAY LODGE IN THE SELWAY PRIMITIVE AREA, NOW KNOWN AS SELWAY-BITTERROOT WILDERNESS IN CENTRAL IDAHO AND WAS A BUSH PILOT. HE AND HIS WIFE BOUGHT AND MANAGED THE ELKHORN LODGE IN GRANGEVILLE FROM 1964 TO 1975. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE ELKS LODGE #1825 IN GRANGEVILLE.  AFTER RETIRING DUE TO ILL HEALTH, THEY MOVED TO DIXIE, IDAHO WHERE THEY LIVED FOR 20 YEARS AND WERE VERY ACTIVE IN COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES.  THEY MOVED TO THE ATOKA AREA LAST WEEK.

     SURVIVED BY

WIFE:    MAE HINKLE OF THE HOME.

SON:   JERRY HINKLE AND WIFE MARY OF WARDS CHAPEL.

DAUGHTERS:   DEANNA HARKLEROOD AND HUSBAND JIM OF PORTLAND, OR.

                      MARILYN THOMPSON AND HUSBAND STEVE OF ORFINO, ID.

8 GRANDCHILDREN, 11 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.

BROTHER:     DR. JOY LEE HINKLE OF REDDING, CA.

SISTER:    ANN VITEL OF CALIFORNIA.

     PRECEDED IN DEATH BY

PARENTS:     EARL (September, 1974) AND CHLOE HINKLE of Redding, CA.

STEPMOTHER:    LEAH HINKLE in May, 1982.

SISTER:    THELMA L. HINKLE.

BROTHER:     RONALD KEITH HINKLE of Fairbanks, AK on September 2, 1984.

DATE OF MEMORIAL SERVICES:     NO SERVICES.

PLACE OF MEMORIAL SERVICES:

INTERMENT:   CREMATION - NO INTERMENT.

AT SIDNEY'S REQUEST, HIS BODY WAS CREMATED AND HIS CREMAINS WILL BE SCATTERED AT HIS FAVORITE PLACE IN THE MOUNTAINS OF IDAHO.
