Richard “Rick” “Scooter” Glenn Hicks, of Caney, KS, passed away on June 30, 2022, in Bartlesville, OK. He was born to Samuel Riley Hicks and Ruby Mae (Elliot) Hicks on August 9, 1947, in Big Spring, TX.
After graduating from Coahoma High School, he attended Canyon College, after college, he worked for different entities and retired from the Parks Department of the city of Big Spring, TX. On October 28, 1989, he married the love of his life, Marie Billbe. He was a two-time cancer survivor and he enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys and loved hunting, fishing, and billiards.
He is proceeded in death by his father Samuel Riley Hicks; mother, Ruby Mae Hicks; brothers, Henry Hicks, Bobby Hicks, and Roger Hicks; sister, Joyce Barrett; father-in-law, James Billbe; and daughter-in-law, Angela Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Hicks; daughter, Ruby Bingham and husband Brandon; sons, Joshua Brown; Scott Brown and wife Brittnie; daughter, Angie Bertty and husband Dennis; grandchildren, Mia, Kaci, Adalynn, Chloë, Zach, Matthew, Micha, Kaela, Korbin, Nalani; mother-in-law, Vivian Billbe; brother-in-law, Jim Billbe, wife Toni; sister-in-law Sherry Scholl, husband Ron; sister-in-law Carol Stephens, husband Steve; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; and Cracker, his beloved pet.
Visitation at Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory from 6 PM – 8 PM on Tuesday, July 5.
Pending graveside services in Coahoma, TX.
