Edith was born September 3, 1924, in Antonito, Colorado to Victor and Florance (Bentley) Jackson. She departed this life on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at the age of 94 years, 9 months, and 29 days.
She married Daniel Thomas Hickmon on July 27, 1938.
Daniel preceded her in death on April 8, 1978. They shared almost 40 years of marriage and were blessed with six children, Richard, Joyce, Daniel, Michael, David, and Robert.
Edith was a member of Westville First Baptist Church and a faithful Sunday School teacher and prayer warrior and an inspiration and blessing to all who knew her. She was also well known for her baking and culinary skills.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Green of Westville, sons, Michael of Westville, David of Johnson, Arkansas, and Robert of Westville, Richard‘s wife, Carol Hickmon of Westville; grandchildren, Shelly and Doug Shultz of Lowell, Ark., Charlene and Matt Flindt of Owasso, David Lee Green of Lawton, Jennifer Frye of Westville, Julie and Chris Oliver of Watts, Kendra and Allen Thompson of Prairie Grove, Ark. Tina Trupiano and husband Andy of Lowell, Ark., Brandy Sellers of Prairie Grove, Ark., Alex and Samantha Hickmon of Fayetteville, Ark.; 15 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving Edith are her sisters, Alice Crawford of New Mexico, Betty Baldwin, Marie Stiles and Mary Haynie of Colorado; her brothers, Kenny Jackson of Arizona, Danny Jackson of Florida, and Richard Jackson of Wyoming.
Edith was proceded in death by her parents. Victor and Florance (Bentley) Jackson; her husband, Daniel Thomas Hickmon; sons, Richard Hickmon and Daniel Hickmon; grandson, Robert Daniel Green; brothers: Fred Jackson, Sonny Jackson, and Eldan Jackson.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Westville First Baptist Church, Westville. Arangements were by Roberts & Hart Funeral Home, Westville.
