Early morning Monday, December 13, 2021 the world lost a kind and caring woman, Edwina Sue Hickman at the age of 62 surrounded by her family at home. Her journey in life began in Ardmore, OK on August 27, 1959, the daughter of Arnold Wayne and Barbara Ann (Culwell) Perkins.
Edwina was a lifelong area resident and homemaker most of her life. She married Dan Hampton and to this union one child was born. Then she married her love Darryl Hickman on September 7, 1990 and to this union four children were born. They just celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary. Edwina was baptized at Eastside Baptist Church. She never went anywhere without her bible. Edwina enjoyed gardening, bird watching, writing, and spending time with her family. She was a loving and devoted mother and memaw.
Edwina is survived by her husband, Darryl Hickman; sons, Matthew Daniel Hickman and Nathaniel Duncan Hickman; daughters, Danielle Addie Hampton, Barbie Marshay Hickman, and Samantha Jane Hickman; sisters, Marcella Ann Kirk and Connie May Perkins; 16 grandchildren plus one-on-the-way.
Edwina was preceded in death by her grandmother, Hazel Addie Culwell; and parents, Arnold and Barbara Perkins.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Edwina will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 17, 2021 at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel with Lawrence Anderson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Marietta.
Honorary bearers are Matthew Hickman, Nathaniel Hickman, Nathan Gomez, Austin Gomez, Adan Gomez, Talon Gomez, Stoney Hickman, Easton Gomez, Michael Murray, and Axl Gomez.
