Janys Hope (Bailey) Hickerson was born on November 17, 1951 in Moody, Texas to James and Wilma (Moore) Bailey. She was united in marriage to Dwight Douglas Hickerson on October 4, 1971 in Clyde, Texas. They made their first home in Baird, Texas before moving to Enid, Oklahoma. Janys attended and graduated from beauty school in the early 1970's. She really enjoyed making each and everyone of her clients "beautiful". Jan had a very special bond with each and everyone of them. She did hair for over 40 years. She wanted a small fish pond in the back yard. Well it grew over the years and completely took over the back yard. It was so big it had an island in the middle. Her fish and lily pads were both huge and there was a lot of them. When they moved, gardening became her passion. Tomatoes were her favorite. Friends say she enjoyed watching Dwight work in the garden more than her! LOL
She loved to play in dart leagues over the years and was very good. She was good at anything she sat her mind to. Jan enjoyed her granddaughters and all three grandsons to the fullest. She taught both of the girls to drive at a very young age.
One thing about Jan is, she had a very big heart. If she was your friend, then you had a friend for life.
She is survived by her husband Dwight Hickerson of the home; one daughter, Gennifer Martin and husband Jim; grandchildren: Isabella Kleuser and husband August, Skylar Martin and other half Kaad Edwards; great-grandchildren Maason, Paason and Wyatt; one sister, Cordellia Bailey; a special niece Whittney Case; special friend, Janet Houser; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, older brother Don Bailey, older sister Elaine, brother-in-law, Terry Hickerson and his wife Linda.
