Juana Jean Hesley was born June 5, 1944 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the second of four children. She attended Muskogee High School and Bacone College. Jean was a wife and mother. She loved animals, owning several, over the years, such as dogs, cats, horses, cows, even a rescue squirrel.
Her artistic talent ranged from hand painted scenes on Easter eggs, designing and sewing formal evening dresses, to the water color and oil paintings that she often entered in the fair.
Jean was a hairdresser and newpaper boy (lady), and she worked for the State of Oklahoma for 28 years. She was caretaker of her mother-in-law and later, caretaker of her own husband.
Jean passed away July 11, 2019 after a long illness. She is preceded in death by her father Bill Meniugh, mother Jessie Meniugh London, husband Joe Hesley, son Jackie George, and daughter Tammy Pendergraft.
Jean is survived by sisters Myrna Stretch and Patricia Creel. Brother Robert London, sons Larry Sampson and Terry Sampson, their spouses, four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She will be missed by these and many more of a large extended family and many friends.
