Wanda Herrington, 68, of Choctaw, OK was born on September 30, 1951 in Galveston, TX. She passed peacefully from this world on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 5:12 p.m. after fighting Dementia for several years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Forrest & Gladys Louise (Bryant) Herrington, her brother, James D. Herrington, and her sister, Joyce Herrington.
She was cared for by Ken & Virginia Dewey, Mike & Julie Winters, and her cousin Faye Morton. She was a longtime member of Ridgecrest Church of Christ in Midwest City, OK. She received her Bachelor's of Science Degree from Oklahoma Christian College. She worked as a substitute teacher at Jones Schools, before obtaining a full time position at Tinker Air Force Base. She retired from Tinker AFB in 2015 after 29 years of service. She enjoyed crocheting, spending time with her grandkids, and devoted her time to helping WhizKids and her church.
She is survived by her Brother, Wayne F. Herrington; Daughters, Julie Renea Winters (& husband George Michael Winters, Jr.); Virginia Louise Dewey (& husband Kenneth Charles Dewey); Patricia Gail Ehrenberg (& husband Brian Ehrenberg); Grandchildren, Jennapher Rose VanBurkleo, David Allen VanBurkleo, Kyle Eugene Ehrenberg, Bethany Ahnjellika Tuesday VanBurkleo, James Dawson Ehrenberg, Jordan John Ehrenberg, Mikayla Sue Winters, and Alyssa Joy winters; and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends.
Thank you to the many people who prayed with and for us for comfort and peace, Villagio Memory Care for taking such good care of Wanda, and to Physician's Choice Hospice for making this transition as smooth as possible.
Visitation for Wanda will be held from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Bill Eisenhour NE Funeral Home. Funeral services for Wanda will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Ridgecrest Church of Christ, 500 N Air Depot Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73110. Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Pine Grove Cemetery in Corrigan, TX.
