Carolyn Irene Hernasy passed away in Wichita Falls, Texas on August 7, 2017. Carolyn was born September 28, 1948 in Santa Barbara, CA to the late Robert and Irene West. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Whinery Huddleston Chapel.
Carolyn started her working career in 1966 when she started working for Southwestern Bell. After retiring from Southwestern Bell and still wanting to work, she worked for the Lawton Police Department as a clerk for the next 15 years. Carolyn loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Once a year Carolyn would travel to Santa Barbara to visit with family, but it was the love of the sand in her toes that would always bring her back. Her hobbies included cheering on the OKC Thunder basketball, shopping at garage sales with friends, working in her yard, and going to her favorite restaurant, Toby Keith's, in Oklahoma City as much as possible.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Tommy Harris and wife Eva of Lawton, OK, a sister Roberta Ann (West) and husband Leo Padilla and their three children, Andrew, Joseph, and Stephen of Chico, CA, a brother Glenn Arthur West of Santa Barbara, CA, and his daughter Sarah of Medford, OR, a sister Debbie Delapp and her husband Charles, and their children Sierra and Charles Robert of Lawton, OK, and Grand-Daughter Alexis Harris of Muldrow, OK, and a Grand-Son Van William Harris of Fort Smith, AR.
