Mary (Pingleton) Hernandez

???? ~ March 5, 2015 | Age 70

Mary Hernandez, 70, of Haywood, died Thursday, March 5, 2015 at her residence.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 9 at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Rev. Ralph Suter and Rev. Matt Rosenow officiating. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.

Mary was the daughter of Ruth Pingleton. She was married on June 21, 1990 to John Hernandez in Fort Smith, Arkansas. They were married 24 years.

Mary was saved at the age of 10 in Haileyville, and was a member of the Arpelar Baptist Church.

She enjoyed barrel racing for 35 years, she loved her horses. Mary worked at the McAlester Army Ammunition Depot for 20 years and retired on August 31, 2009.

Mary loved her husband, John, and her kids and grandkids. She also loved her church family and enjoyed attending when she felt good enough to go. She also loved fried potatoes, brown beans and cornbread and she referred to it often as “Awesome.”

Survivors include her husband: John Hernandez of the home; sons: George Swboni of Haileyville, Shane Swboni of Coweta; stepson: John S. Hernandez and wife, Ginger of McAlester; grandsons: Kaleb Swboni of Lawton, Austin Swboni of Edmond, Garrett Swboni of Coweta.

Also, granddaughter: Brianna Swboni of Crowder; step-grandsons: Micah Hernandez and wife, Sydney of McAlester, Brayden Hernandez of McAlester, Bryce Hernandez and wife, Rebecca of Kansas City, Kansas; great-granddaughters: Kacyn Beth Swboni of Lawton, Amelia Hernandez of McAlester; and great-grandson: Alex Hernandez of Kansas City, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her mother: Ruth Pingleton; and brothers: Rev. James Pingleton, Herb Pingleton, and Ronnie Pingleton.
