Richard Allen Herman
June 20, 1934 ~ November 22, 2017

Richard Allen Herman, age 83 and resident of Bartlesville, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Jane Phillips Hospital, Bartlesville, OK.

Richard Allen Herman was born on June 20, 1934 in Greenville, Illinois. He was the son of William and Mabel Herman. He was raised in Illinois and Oklahoma and graduated from College High in 1953.

On June 26, 1959, Richard and Carol Herman were united in marriage in Bartlesville. They later moved to Jenks, OK in 1971 when his job at Cities Service was moved to Tulsa. There they raised their four children, Sherri, Michael, Debbie and Steven. They were married 58 years prior to Carol's death.

Richard is a member of the East Cross United Methodist Church in Bartlesville. He worked for Cities Service, which was later known as Occidental Petroleum, for 37 years and retired on April 29, 1995. He loved to be outdoors hunting, fishing, golfing or just sitting outside telling stories. He especially loved to be around his 11 grandchildren.

He is survived by his children: Sherri Greenway and her husband Jim, of Jenks, Michael Herman and his wife Marilyn, of Berryhill, Debbie Brashear and her husband Mark of Bartlesville, and Steven Herman and his wife Cheryl of Glenpool; and 11 grandchildren.

Memorials in Richard's memory may be sent to East Cross United Methodist Church, 820 Madison Blvd., Bartlesville, OK 74006. Come and go visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 8:00 PM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave.

Services for Richard will be held on Wednesday November 29, at 10:00 am in the East Cross United Methodist Church, 820 S. Madison. Pastor Jeff Burress will be the officiant.
