Troy Willard Henson, age 81 of Lexington, passed away Monday, December 9, 2019. Troy was born July 1, 1938 in Francis, Oklahoma. His parents were Connie Troy Henson and Betty Pauline (Williams) Henson. He was raised in Southeast Texas. Like many at this time, the Henson family moved many times, to wherever they could find work. Troy graduated from Hearn High School in 1957. Troy joined the United States Air Force and served his country proudly. During his service, he was stationed in Stephenville, Newfoundland. It was here that he met a local girl named Yvonne Mildred Loder. They fell in love and were married on October 4, 1961 in St. Anthony. They returned home to Oklahoma and made their home in Okla. City until 1982, when they moved to Purcell. Together they raised two children, daughter, Deborah and son, Steven. Troy first worked for L&S Bearings and later Wilson Foods. He then worked Purcell Public Schools, retiring in 2009. They moved to Lexington in 2003 and have called it home since. Troy enjoyed fishing and camping and returned to Newfoundland several times. He was a man of great faith and a member of the Sanctuary Christian Center east of Lexington. He was a wonderful husband and father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a good friend.
He was preceded in death by:
His parents, Connie Henson, Betty Cloud and step mother Nelda Melita and
His sisters, Betty Mosier and Nelda Breedlove.
Troy is survived by:
His wife, Yvonne of the home;
Daughter, Deborah Henson Easton and husband, John Chaney of Glenburnie, MD;
Son, Steven Henson and wife Lyndsay of Ft. Worth, TX;
3 grandchildren, Abigail, Noah and Christopher;
4 great grandchildren, Brooke, Cannon, Blake and Eleanor and
A host of other family and friends.
Celebration of Life Memorial is scheduled for 4:00 P.M. Thursday, December 19, 2019, at the Sanctuary Christian Center east of Lexington. Send online condolences @ wilsonlittle.com.
